eBay Customer Service
Here is my one story about a pretty serious interaction with eBay customer service. We have all seen those silly emails supposedly from eBay that are asking you to "update your account information" or some other junk. For whatever reason, I decided to fill one of those out one day. Not sure why, I think it was a long day and I simply wasn't paying attention. Well, now you are going to learn what can happen if you are not paying attention. The lovely people that captured my login, changed my eBay password, and since back in the old days, eBay used your email address as your login, they changed my email password for one of my email accounts as well. Pretty slick huh. I first realized something was up when I was getting an error message when checking that email account and realized it had been hijacked. I got a hold of a the local tech at Time Warner Cable and we got that squared away quickly. I then started to receive emails from eBay buyers asking me about the motorcycle I was selling...and why I was selling it so cheap. Well, it took me about 30 seconds to realize that they had hijacked my eBay account as well. I immediately got on their website and locaed a live chat area where I could interact with a real person via a chat client online. Within a few minutes, my account was reinstated, the auction was cancelled and all was back to normal. I was pretty amazed to say the least. eBay really does it right 99% of the time. Unlike someone like Yahoo! who hides their customer service phone numbers where nobody can find them. Thank you eBay. Good job.

MSN Customer Service
Another popular subject in these parts is MSN and their attempts at customer service. I cannot say the same things for MSN as I have been able to for a company like eBay. But, to be honest, I have not had much experience with them. They are a huge company and I don't think that enough thought goes into supporting customers when companies launch new products. It seems that the only thing that matters is being able to sell something, not make sure that it is well received and usable. Kind funny don't you think?
