Just Installed Trackback - Happy Birthday

Saturday, January 8th, 2005

I am trying to get a better handle on blogging as it is working out to be a great way to add content to websites via one centralized location. Kind of like a lean and mean CMS system. I am using the Haloscan trackback and commenting software, that is free to use. If this works out, and it looks like it will, I will be making a donation to those guys as this is some great software. Oh yeah, happy belated birthday Haloscan.

WebSupport Press Release

Thursday, January 6th, 2005

Well, I did my best today on a press release from PRWeb. I just received an email that the press release was approved and it will be published on their website on January 8th…2 days from now. So, go ahead and check it out and let me know what you think. I think it needs a little work, so maybe I will make some changes before it goes live.

Sprint Customer Service

Thursday, January 6th, 2005

Well, I had a pretty bad run in with the glorious folks over at Sprint a few weeks ago. I wrote a little bit about it on one of our pages here and low and behold, we began to hear from other people who had similar experiences. So, now we can all share our stories about Sprint, and let me tell you, it made me feel a whole lot better. Some come on down and share your Sprint customer service story in our brand new Sprint customer service forum.

What is Good Customer Service?

Sunday, January 2nd, 2005

First of all we would like to wish all of you a happy and healthy new year in 2005. With that said, I thought it would be a good idea to cover a few of the most important items when it comes to “good” customer service. If nothing else, keeping these 3 things in mind, will help you provide your customers with an improved customer service exerience.

1. Listen first. Listening to everything your customer has to say or ask before you answer will not only give you all of the information you need, but it will allow your customer to feel like you are interested in everything they have to say.

2. Speak slowly, speak clearly. Speaking slowly and in a clear voice will allow you to convey your message easily to your customers when they need it most. This will also help to mitigate any tension that exists between you and your customer by slowing things down and making sure that there is as little need as possible to repeat any instructions you may have to give.

3. Smile. Yes, that is one of our tips…smiling. It seems stupid or may be silly, but putting a smile on your face will help to keep you in a good mood when that may not be the easiest thing to do. Keeping yourself in good spirits will help perpetuate good feelings over the course of your work day and that will traslate into better customer service.
